Bloody Hemorrhoids during pregnancy?

I've never had this before and yesturday when I went to the bathroom I felt a sharp pain, and as I wiped, I saw bright red blood. I got scared at first because I'm pregnant, but then noticed that it only came from my behind and not from my vagina. Has anyone had this before? What can I do to stop it? should I call my doctor or worry?

Yes! I've had them ever since I got pregnant. It is pretty scary but I think it's normal during pregnancy. Mine went away a little cause I no longer bleed when I use the bathroom anymore, but I still feel the sharp pains when passing stool sometimes. (Sorry tmi) lol.

Yes, hemorrhoids are very common in pregnancy. Due to the weight of the uterus pressing down, it can cause hemorrhoids. I had one when I was pregnant and got 2 more from pushing during delivery. You can't really stop it, but you can buy creams & ointments to help with the pain. Don't worry and I don't think you need to call your doctor, but you can mention it to him/her at your next appointment. If they get really bad, you can elect to have them removed, but I just deal with mine. They're annoying, but oh well. Just make sure your drinking plenty of water and eating lots of fruits, veggies, & fiber. That will help your stools stay soft and pass more easily. The more constipated you are, the worse they'll be.
