Hemorrhoid question....please help!?

Two nights ago i started having some pain when sitting and walking around. Yesterday, i was in a lot of pain when i walked around and when i got up from sitting i also experienced some pain. I went online and looked at my symptoms and from what i can tell i have a hemorrhoid. I bought preparation H yesterday but i am still pain. My question is will this hemorrhoid go away on its own? And how long does it take to go away?

Also, I am a twenty year old female in college so is it normal that i have this?
