How soon should a suppository help?

I am having hemorrhoid symptoms on the inside of me and decided to try using preparation H suppositories, but the first one I used I still had a lot of pain when I had a bowel movement. Then the next one I used I didn't have a bowel movement until the next day, and it was still quite painful and there was quite a bit of blood.

Is the suppository not working, or does it just take more time?

Answers:

Suppositories do not cure the problem, they only offer temporary relief. You have to use at least one everytime you have a bowel movement. I suggest you see a proctologist.
