I am about to go to the doctor and I need to know something....?

Ok, first off, this is very embarrassing, so if you are going to make fun of me and not give a serious answer, go ahead because it will lighten the mood for me. Here's the deal: I have a horrible hemorrhoid that has actually been bleeding and putting me through some very intense and unbearable pain. It isn't going away and preparation H isn't working, so I am going to the doctor in a little bit to get it checked out. I am very embarrassed though to have him looking in my anus though. Should I try to shave it or something or will he be used to it? I am dead serious. I have had a colonoscopy and not worried about it, but that was because I was asleep. What should I do?

Your doctor has seen hairy anuses before. If you shaved it he would think you were weird.

truly you have no worries just keep your self clean and washed there lol doctors see tons of nasty things like really nasty things

you will feel odd anyways just as you know exposing such delicate parts with your back turned. i really wouldnt reccomend any hair removal creams for that area and shaving could cause ingrown hairs there and make the hemorroid(sp?) worse if thats even imaginable for you lol.

Well, to tell you the truth, I would say just make sure you are clean down there.

The Doc will be able to look through the brush if necessary...he should be used to it, right?

No need to be embarrassed, though...I mean, if anuses could fly, this place would be an airport!

Hel no don't do anything to it! Furthermore, Doctors have seen every part of the human body, including the anus of both living and dead bodies, so get over it and get to the Doctor! OMG..."should i shave it?" NO!

I've been to the doctors multiple time and had "private areas" looked at. you should worry about shaving or anything seeing as it may rash and just get worse and just keep in mind that the doctors have seen it all before. nothing is going to shock or disgust them so i wouldn't worry about it.

just be proud your going to the doctors cause many people in your situation may just leave it because there to embarrassed to go

Trust me. Whatever yours looks like, the doctor has seen worse. And a gynecologist would argue that he has seen more repulsive sights.

You would only make things worse by trying to shave it. Just use a warm soapy washcloth and clean your perianal area prior to your visit.

Hemorrhoids are caused by straining at the stool. You should get more fiver and water in your diet.

No worries mate! If it is already bleeding he'll just burn it with a laser to stop it and maybe set you up for surgery to correct it so it doesn't happen again. But if you're worried about it.. just remember if something is in your butt and you can feel both hands on your shoulders.. ask for dinner afterwards.
