Some people have a hemorrhoid that they don’t even notice. Other unlucky individuals have problems with protruding hemorrhoids which may become painful, itching or may even bleed.
There are different levels of hemorrhoids, each requiring a different level of treatment. The first two levels or phases aren’t nearly as bad as the third and fourth. The third and fourth levels will most likely require surgery or some type of invasive outpatient medical intervention.
Once you allow your hemorrhoids to get to the third or fourth levels, it is very difficult to get rid of them permanently and you will most likely need to get treatment throughout the rest of your life
Everyone has hemorrhoids. Whether or not the hemorrhoids interfere with their daily life is another story. Many times people do not receive the necessary treatment they need from a healthcare professional because they either do not understand what is happening with their body or because they are embarrassed and feel that going to the doctor for an ailment of the behind will be too awkward to deal with.
If we don’t get the necessary treatment and care we need for our hemorrhoids as soon as we notice them, they can become worse and the longer we go without the proper treatment, the harder it will be to get rid of them.
As with any medical ailment, prevention is key, however, since experts are still uncertain of the exact causes of hemorrhoids, it can be somewhat difficult to prevent hemorrhoids from disrupting our lives.
What we do know is that people who sit for prolonged periods of time without getting up and walking around, have diets high in fat and low in fiber, suffer from chronic constipation or diarrhea, are pregnant or are obese tend to have hemorrhoids. We also know that the older we get, the more likely we are to have hemorrhoids. Experts believe that this is because of poor muscle and vein circulation throughout the body. This being said, it would be a smart observation to say that eating healthy, consuming enough liquids, particularly water, and staying physically active throughout life is more likely to ensure that hemorrhoids do not become a problem for us later in life.
Implementing a potato poultice can be a very beneficial alternative treatment for your hemorrhoid issues. To make a potato poultice, grate one to two tablespoons of raw potato into cheesecloth. Chill the cheesecloth and apply it to the rectal area for ten to fifteen minutes. Do this up to three times a day.
