Treat Your Butt Like You Would Treat Your Baby’s Butt

If you’re pregnant or have just had a baby, you may have hemorrhoids as a result of childbirth. Try using natural treatments in order to heal your hemorrhoids.

Hemorrhoids are varicose veins which sometimes protrude out of the anus and can be painful, itchy or burn.  In more extreme cases, hemorrhoids will bleed either internally or externally, which can cause great alarm for the hemorrhoid sufferer.

Natural treatments are becoming increasingly more popular and the reason is because they are effective and less invasive than other popular treatments

If you’re suffering from hemorrhoids as a result of having a baby (or even if you didn’t just have a baby), raid your baby’s medicinal supplies!  A good example is Baby Desitin, which is most often used to treat diaper rash.  (If you’ve just had a baby and you don’t already have it, get some!)

Desitin contains zinc oxide, which may calm the itching and burning sensations associated with hemorrhoids.  Baby wipes can also be very effective in soothing the bulging veins which are a result of hemorrhoids.

You should speak to your doctor as to whether or not implementing stool softeners or bulking agents will be beneficial to your hemorrhoid treatment.

You can also sit on some ice to dull the hemorrhoid pain, however, if the ice is too cold, you can use a cold compress or a towel wet with cold water.  Make sure you ring the towel out before you put it against your anus.

You can also use a hazel compress.  Store distilled witch hazel in the refrigerator and drizzle it on a sterile gauze pad, gently holding it against your hemorrhoid several times throughout the day or as needed.

You can also try rubbing vitamin E oil onto the hemorrhoid before bed.  Make sure you’re eating healthy and getting plenty of water (six to eight glasses a day).

Exercising regularly and stretching throughout the day will also be helpful.  Apples are excellent treatment for both diarrhea and constipation, which are thought to be causes of hemorrhoids, so making sure to eat apples each day will be very beneficial to you as well.

If your hemorrhoids become worse or don’t seem to be getting better, you should definitely speak to your doctor.  Hemorrhoids left untreated sometimes become worse and more severe.  A severe hemorrhoid can lead to further issues later on in life which can only be rectified with surgical procedures.  People who suffer from hemorrhoids are more likely to have problems with them throughout their entire life.
