Bleeding Hemorrhoids are more common than most people think. They can be either internal or external and may be painful. Some types of hemorrhoids go away on their own where as others need further treatment.

Although not often discussed, hemorrhoids affect up to 86% of Americans and has no age barrier.

Although not as common as occurring in adults, hemorrhoids do affect children and can be as irritating and uncomfortable for them as well.

Although there is no definitive answer, it is thought that inadequate amounts of fiber in one’s diet, inactivity, prolonged sitting and constipation can contribute to the development of hemorrhoids.
